For a child to achieve his or whole full potential he or she should be healthy and nourished. Most mothers find bottle feeding convenient but what they don't know is that formula milk is not complete.

It is nothing new to find new mothers bottle feeding their babies even after they are born. This must be because this is what they are used to or maybe because they are not aware of the benefits of breastfeeding. Breastfeeding may be uncommon in some areas but it wouldn't hurt if you have an idea as to why it is best for babies.

1. Fresh. The milk from the mother's breast is guaranteed fresh. You would not have to worry about preservatives or additives because it is all natural, which is a good thing. Some additives in formula milk may not be good for babies.

2. Antibodies. Yes breast milk is abundant with antibodies. These antibodies help ward off invaders in your child's bodies. Breastfeeding will boost your child's immune system because it naturally contains antibodies. The colostrums which is the first milk excreted by the mother after birth is said to be rich with these antibodies so feeding your child right after birth will surely give him a head start.

3. Easily digested. Not all babies can tolerate formula milk simply because they can't digest it. Babies that are unable to digest milk can be really irritable. Breast milk is natural and contains no other ingredients so your child's tummy will find it easier to digest as compared to other milk products.

4. Availability. A mother will never run out of milk and she will never have to rush to a convenient store to fall in line just to buy a can of milk. When you are breast feeding all you have to do is carry your child and position him properly on your breast and you are ready to go. He or she can breastfeed as much as he wants because you won't have to worry about milk running out.

5. Bonding. One of the best ways to bond with your newborn child is through physical contact. With physical contact your child will be able to feel your warmth and he or she knows that you are there. Breastfeeding will require you to carry or lie down beside your baby keeping the two of you close together. Bonding with your baby is essential because this will help determine your future relationship with him or her when he or she grows up.

6. Nutritious. Yes, breast milk is filled with many nutrients. Some of these nutrients may not be found on infant formula. Aside from that these nutrients occur naturally, therefore it is easy to digest.

Breastfeeding is not hard thing to do; in fact it is the easiest way to bond and get close with your newborn baby. If you want only the best for your child then start breastfeeding him or her as soon as he or she is born.
